With a heads up from brother Dan (SilverHawkDan) and a phone conversation yesterday with Dave Bloomberg I can confirm that Dave's 200+ MPH Bonneville Salt Racing Avanti is now on display at the World Of Speed Museum in Wilsonville, Oregon. The original plan to take it to the Studebaker Museum in South Bend was evidently changed when SB negotiated a deal with WOS to have the car exhibited there first. Dave says he was told when he delivered the car yesterday that they think it will be at WOS for up to a year. So, there is plenty of time for all of you who can get to Oregon to see the car. I had a nice conversation with Dave who said he was fine with leaving his baby here in Oregon. He is really happy it will be here and he was very impressed with the museum and the quality of the vehicles on display. His car will have a special display of it's own under the heading of Bonneville Salt Racers. He left his plaques, trophies and other memorabilia to go with the display so the history will stay with the car.
Here is a photo I took of his car when I was at Bonneville back in 2010.
