  • nuts and bolts

I was fitting some studs in to the manifold of a 259 and found they were extremely sloppy, they were 3/8" threads, however but would go in with my fingers. I measured several 3/8" bolts and they varied up to .010 on either side. I do realize that you can make a bolt any size you desire, but these bolts were from years of collecting "standard" bolts. It doesn't matter much with a general assembly but if you desire a very close fit it may be worth the time to measure your bolts. Different manufacturers may make different sizes generally and/or may make bolts to a specific spec, these all end up in our spare bolts bins.
