  • Brake drum interchange for T Cab?

I tried some searches for a brake drum swap on a T Cab. Not having much luck. I thought someone had a GM brake drum that interchanged with the Stude's. I want to use GM wheels and don't want to risk the wheel stud issues. I need a drum that will allow the GM wheel to seat itself to the drum without the offset of the Stude rim. Thanks in advance

I used chevy drums on my Champ. I separated the hub from the brake drum. Then you have to turn the hub to match the chevy drum. Their is a how to on Bob Johnstones Studebaker page. It's a pretty easy swap

I did this conversion for a 1949 1/2 ton. I am very happy to not need to use the puller. Somewhere on this forum there is a posting on what studs to use. I used new original type studs, so I had to drill the drums to fit the shoulder of the studs. It is better to find a stud that has a shoulder that does not extend beyond the flange thickness, so the drums will fit without drilling.
