Love the orange and tusk ivory (which is close enough to creme)! Then again, my Grandpa Skow had Allis-Chalmers dealership in Moorhead, Iowa. It's like "the bestest car they don't make no more" meets the "bestest tractor they don't make no more".
1963 Champ "Stu Bludebaker"- sometimes driver
1957 Silver Hawk "Josie"- picking up the pieces after an unreliable body man let it rot for 11 years from an almost driver to a basket case
1951 Land Cruiser "Bunnie Ketcher" only 47M miles!
1951 Commander Starlight "Dale"- basket case
      1947 Champion "Sally"- basket case
1941 Commander Land Cruiser "Ursula"- basket case

Wow! It still has the Line Number on the Firewall!

I knew the 1st. Owner of this Truck he was a Parts Man at Frank Afton Studebaker in Inglewood Calif.
At that time 1964, it was Gray and had a 3.73 TT Axle, I think the Granetelli's changed that from 4.55 before selling it, probably got too many Air pollution Tickets from all the tire Smoke!

I wonder if they ran the Engine Oil through that Oil Cooler Radiator or what!
Remember that there "WERE NO" Power Steering Champs, only 1 Ton and Larger Trucks.

Hawk pump, ram, control valve and Pittman arm. Dave Thibeault sells the brackets to adapt it.

                      • Very Cute little Short Box.

Love that BLUE! It is pretty close to '63 Blue Mist, but slightly Darker with less silver and more Blue, an unusual shade, just BEAUTIFUL!

                          • They made an awful lot of blue Champs back then didn't they?

Actually, No, there were way more White ones and more Red ones, Blue was about as uncommon as Green.
                              Beige was also very common.

I think quite a few Champ owners PAINT them a pretty Blue, to make them less "Generic". And then too possibly more Sharp looking '63-'64 Blue ones were saved, who knows.

The State Road Dept's must have gotten very good deals on the Omaha Orange ones, I helped Deliver some of those to Caltrans, also the Los Angeles Water and Power Dept. Brown ones, they required Dealer Installed chained Gas Caps so no "dummy's" could lose them. Also Calif. based & Mfg'd TIRES were installed on the State Trucks, the Akron Ohio Firestones had to GO.
