Any one remember Sad Sack? I knew Fred Rhodes in Tucson and after drawing Sad Sack, he drew editorial cartoons for our now defunct evening newspaper The Tucson Citizen.
RIP Mort Walker and thanks for the memories and smiles.

"Private Beetle Bailey— In early strips, it was revealed that he is the brother of Lois Flagston (from the Hi and Lois cartoon, which Mort Walker wrote, and Dik Browne drew)."
Just thought that I would throw in some more trivia. I recall reading both comic strips when I was in grade school. They were my introduction to reading the dally newspaper.sigpic

I have read Beetle Bailey for years, but the strip I miss most is Pogo. The subtle political comments were different."In the heart of Arkansas."
