  • Need positive i.d. for V8 crossed flag emblem

Was going to list this emblem on ebay but wanted to be sure I have the correct application. The casting number on the reverse has #1320133 but I was not able to confirm that as the part number. Thinking that it most resembles part 1360151 used on the ear muff (C pillar) of the 1964 Daytona and Cruiser? Can anyone confirm the application?

Yes this emblem was used on the roof post of ‘64 Daytona’s IF they were South Bend Built. The Canadian ones have the crossed flags, but no “8”. The emblem you have was also used on the front fenders of ‘57-58 Silver Hawks, and possibly others. It’s a cool emblem and would look great on all kinds of Muscle Cars!

Yes it is a 1320133WP used as Kenny said, Plus on all '57 President Sedan and wagons and other 289 equipped '57's as in Police and Heavy Duty Sedans and Wagons as on Silver Hawk to indicate a 289 Engine.

      Never on any Cruisers though.

Thanks, I had not looked for anything pre 1960. Did find the number 1320133 listed for the '57 President only. Will list it accordingly. Appreciate the assistance.

Brings back memories (as usual). Those emblems were pried off my 1957 President Classic while it was parked for an hour or two at a hospital in New York City (about 1961-1962).

I had a 1957 Transtar Deluxe with the flag emblem. I think several model C-cab trucks used them also.

The flagged V8 Emblem is a nice upgrade on a Transtar to show you have the Optional; (except on 1959 Studebaker Deluxe's) 289 Engine, but of course not originally Correct.

Did you catch the S.O.B.(s) who stole them? I bet you would have given them a long-term stay in that hospital if you did!!

No, that was just the price of going to NYC, even in the daytime. Probably the worst part was the damage to the paint in their removal.

They are not applicable on the 1964 Cruiser. 64 cruisers had an elongated square with lines in.

Well, You Know what? I just looked up the pictures of my old Transtar--- It did not have checkered Flag, it is the same as Mark Hayden showed.

Guess with my senior memory isn't always accurate.

Current Studebaker International Catalog would be a good reference for this - page 46, available for $38.00.

I'm not sure about that either? I believe the definition of a parallelogram, is a 4 sided figure with both sets of opposing sides being parallel. Without having the actual trim piece in front of me, for inspection, I'm not 100% certain, whether this is the case or not? If that's not the case, then I believe, the correct term should be a rombus.
