  • Wheels / Tires: Some Tire Upgrade Photos

So, many threads out there about upgrading tires and wheels to radials and suitable rims, but rarely are there photos...other than an after shot. So, I took some today on my change and I'll have more later this week after a hiccup and some stud replacement on one rear drum. So, I have a 1960 Lark VI wagon currently with 195/75/15 street tires. I replaced them with 205/75/15 snows, since it's November, and they went on 90s Crown Victoria rims I got from www.partsgeek.com for $57/rim. Click image for larger version

I thought I had a photo of the tire on the ground, just this one in the air. The photos under the car show the passenger tire cranked all the way to the left.

The passenger side clears, after mounting the tire I found the driver's side however has a body crinkle under the bumper that pushes out the bottom fender curve enough it catches when I turn left. I have a neighbor who has body experience and it shouldn't be an involved fix, but it'll be faster with someone pointing out how best to reorient the fender.

I'm a little less concerned than I originally was about the sidewall and the rear tire clearance as I felt that it's a tight fit now, but it's still going to be close on a wagon. I hope these pics help someone else in the future. I'll have more later this week after I can get with the body guy and get the drum fixed.
