  • Gorm Albrechtsen, from Herring, Denmark

Gorm Albrechtsen, 73 from Herning, Denmark, chief editor and vintage car enthusiast, passed away on September 1, 2015. Born on November 2, 1941, he was chief editor for the regional newspaper, Herniing Folkeblad for more than 30 years.

Gorm was well known as a passionate person, when it came to Studebaker. He wrote a lot of editorials and stories for various automobile magazines about them. He was a motor journalist by heart and profession and for several years was president of the Danish association of motor journalists. In Scandinavia he was the founder of the Danish Studebaker Register, where he worked in co operation with the Swedish chapter. For more than 20 years he was also in the organizing comitee of one of Denmarks largest and most well known vintage rallies - the Ringkoebing Run.

Gorm was the proud owner of a 1958 Studebaker Golden Hawk, the only one of its kind in Denmark. After it was brought to Denmark in 1958 as a real showstopper at an international car show in Copenhagen, it participated in the 1959 Rallye Monte Carlo

This 1958 Hawk was more or less a barn find by Gorm and was restored over a period of 5-6 years to its fully authentic condition. With his passing, the 1958 Studebaker continues to be kept in the family, as his son Ulrich G. Albrechtsen took over the car, when Gorm turned ill from cancer.

Gorm Albrechtsen has been an international [EU] member of the Studebaker Drivers Club since 2005.
