i have 64-R2, vin R4967. i entered it in one vin decoder site and came back as R-3, how could this be as i have all 9 registered R-3's unless someone modified or installed one via Paxton surplus. any one have idea why this happened? i can not find this same site yet. i am trying to find out approx value of Avanti, 80,000 miles, has been in storage 35 yrs. blower is not installed. i live Spokane wa. i also have 63 G.T. hawk. 2 vets, 73 javelin, 69 cougar, 67 mustang vert. thanks, have a nice summer

Just simply check the Engine serial number on the Drivers side, top, front corner of the block, we can tell what engine you have from that.
I have no idea how a "Vin. decoding site" would have ANY idea what Engine is in a Studebaker, probably NOT!StudeRich
