Looks like you're gonna have to figure out the steering around that motor.

Not sure if this will work or not, but I now have the air ride on the front working, at least with a hose from my air compressor!
On to steering now...

Another Busy week.
I got the dash in and now I finally have steering! The Cadillac Tilt / Telescope column seems right at home in this Coupe.
And I got the air ride stops pretty much where they are going to be, At the lowerest point, Im 1.5 inches from the ground at the rear
and 2 inches from the ground in the front and no part of the engine or trans hangs below the frame. This will be my first air ride car and I have heard that they all have pressure issues at some point or another. I wanted to make sure that if/when I loose air pressure I can safely get it off the road and possibly home.

So far, I have enjoyed your build. Also, in another thread, I just made a comment about how petty, in-artful, and dysfunctional we can sometimes be in our discourse with one another. Please keep in mind, I am aware that I'm not the most knowledgeable poster (by a long shot) on this forum. Therefore, don't allow my opinion to disrupt your creative spirit. But...(yep, there's a but)...I'm thinking that steering column is crying out for some kind of "Banjo" retro-look. I have no idea if some kind of wheel/adapter is available, perhaps you'll have to make one, but, that's just my (goofy) opinion.
As for the ride height, I'd love to see it pumped up as it will be going down the road. Around here, there are speed bumps in some pretty sneaky places...and then...the unexpected deer carcasses around the next curve.John Clary

I really want a banjo type wheel!
I hate the caddy wheel, but with the telescope option I may be limited to what wheel I can actually run. I got this steering column for free from my dads leftovers so that is why its going in.
The true spirit of hotrodding lives on with me! Its not how much money you can spend, But finding a way to use what you have and making it work
I have about 5 inches of travel in my air ride system so the ride height can be adjusted for most conditions. Luckily for me here in Texas, its pretty flat. And speed bumps are pretty limited. We love to go fast here in TX.

1956 Mercury Montclair. Its chopped 4 1/2 in the front and 9 inches in the back with a 50 merc back window section.
And we have an all original 1957 Desoto Firesweep that was a barn find. We got it from the daughter of the original owner. She thought it was scrap metal, but I had it running 2 hrs after I got it home. Its a dream find.

Its been kind of slow going in Texas the heat, but I now have all the motor mounts in. My exhaust manifolds are in the machine shop having 40 year old studs drilled out. I guess someone didn't know right from left, or used too long of a bolt.
Also I am going to be able to use the original brake pedal assembly with a brand new Willwood master cylinder 7/8 bore and a 3 bolt to 2 bolt adapter from Honest Charley's speed shop. I'll post pics of the brake set up soon.!
