    Unique gauges for sure. The speedometer will take some getting used to, but after that it will be like me driving with a tach.

    I got the dash and steering column back from Paint friday evening and I waited as long as could to put it all together. I'm loving the color.

    Its been slow going but Ive managed to get a little done in the Texas Heat. The dash is in and I've started the wiring and cleaning floors, roof and inside the doors.

    Good fun! I like your wheel covers. I was very torn between the cool look of a vintage wheel cover and the lightness of the new alloy wheels.

    These are just the cheap re-pop Hollywood Flipper caps from the 40's.
    The are on stock GM 15x7 rally wheels. (Disc Brake clearance)
    Eventually I will get pair of original ones but the wheel fitment is a bit of a hassle.

    He gang, its been a while since I posted, Had a few other things going with my other 2 cars but I have been plugging away on super boring details that don't make for very good photos. Front end aliments, packing wheel bearings, bleeding brakes, floor paint and insulation, making transmission cooling lines, fitting the inner fenders around the MMII front end, radiator brackets and hoses. But all that stuff has added up to IT RUNS!
    I guess it has a new birthday now. Sept 16 was the day this car moved under its own power for the first time in about 30 to 40 years.

    I haven't put in the fuel tank as I have a ton of welding to do in the trunk still so the red one gallon can is all I had for this first start up.

    It may not seem like much but I now have the headlights rebuilt and working on 12 volts.
    This was WAY more of a headache that I had imagined.
    What I have learned about the old 3 pin headlight bulbs is that they only go on the pins one way. 6v bulbs are 90 degrees different from 12v bulbs.
    I tried replacement sockets and they wont fit these old riteway reflectors, soooooo...
    I had to cut the original 6v sockets off, buy some generic NAPA turn signal sockets, cut the bottoms of the NAPA sockets off, rotate the new bottom half so the wires will line up to the bottom of the new 12v bulbs and then tack weld them together.
    I also had to add a ground wire to the back of the old silvered reflector.
    Lots of tedious work that no one will ever see.
    But the result is amazing. These are super cool and they look right.

    Its been slow going but I finally have all the busted seams repaired and patch panels made and and installed.
    I put my old hand held English wheels to good use. I didnt really have much frame of reference on the tail pan so I just made new panels to tie what was left together. It came out pretty well for no patterns or idea of how it used to look. Good enough for a tail dragger hotrod I suppose.
    Its solid as a rock now. On to the fun stuff now!!

    Ive been working but I got a new computer and my password was lost.. I finally got it worked out and now for the updates.

    Working on glass. I now have quarter windows and the windshield! The trunk is all fixed now too and the air ride is in waiting to be plumbed and wired.

    And lastly, I have found 1939 Lincoln Zephyr bumpers that I am going to run. Both front and rear have the optional center bumper guard which I hear is are pretty hard to find items.

    Also, I think that it came up about door glass. I want to eliminate the wing window and run a single pane. Seems like there was some concerns raised but this car is on the Dallas Craig's List for sale.
    Hes done the door glass like I want to so I know it can be done. Just not sure how much work is involved. It cant be that hard compared to all I have done already.

    Those bumpers will fit right in. As far as the one piece glass, I've never done it but I've seen it done. Cardboard until it fits, plywood the thickness of the glass for final fit and then to the glass shop for safety glass. I'll bet Youtube has several video's.

    Going to be a nice ride when you finish.

    I don't have any regulators. But since I'm changing it so much I don't think the factory ones would have worked anyway.
    I guess a set of generic Speedway power window regulators are in my future. And some inner door skins to mount it all to. :/

    The factor for one-piece windows is if the wing window and the door glass were in the same plane originally. If they were, it is much simpler to convert to one-piece. Lots of work if they weren't.

    vent and side window are not lined up. there is an angle between them....3 to 5 degrees maybe?
