Working on a '52 2R17, I took the fan switch apart and cleaned out the debris collected and cleaned up the contacts. (Evidently, the area behind the chrome housing is a bug collector) Can I get a replacement switch, or is it fine to continue to use the original switch which appears to be in good condition? I don't know if the coiled wire resistor at the top of the ceramic piece in the switch is something I need to worry about though.
The wires are done, between the motor and the switch. Do I look for a replacement switch and splice the replacement wires to the old motor? What have others done in this situation?
