  • Engine: SUCCESS! Finally

2 days and over 3 hours trying, but I finally got bolt #4, Death, the last of the 4 oil pan Bolts of the Apocalypse in tonight! #%*@ If I do have to remove the oil pan on this Commander Six, I'm drilling a hole on either side of the edge of the center flare of the crossmember so at least I have a straight shot access with the socket extension to the 4 bolts to remove and install.

Good job! Your persistence paid off.

Thank you, and I only thought about leaving that one hole open after considering the option of dropping the pan again just to align the hole for that one bolt. That was what I was contemplating having to do before it went it after I removed the socket u-joint and tried it with another socket and no u-joint. Bastidge.

On the good side. Think of how good you felt when that last bolt was in!

It was one of those moments when you just sit there for several seconds and not move.
