  • Engine: Commander Six oil pan

I have a gasket on order, but started loosening the oil pan bolts last night. Besides needing to use a combination wrench to get at them, is there a trick to getting at the bolts sitting at the back of the oil pan over the X member?

What vehicle are you working on?
More than likely you rear motor mount has collapsed.
    These bolt are normally accessible.
Depending on the vehicle you maybe able to lift the transmission a little to remove the oil pan bolts but replace the rear mounts.

oh, bummer. The mounts didn't appear that bad, I'll have to give them a closer inspection with someone else's opinion this next time.
