  • A tip of the hat to Studebaker and Batman?

I was watching Family Guy a few days ago and I noticed something interesting.
Mayor Adam West drives a 1950s Studebaker. I thought there had to me more then that.
In Detective Comics 156, the 1950s Batmobile is a 1950 Studebaker.
Not only are both cars the same model, almost the same color, but in Family Guy, Batman is unmasked and so is the Studebaker.

That Batmobile is available in toy form. EagleMoss company has a die-cast version out now. Check eBay.
Also Johnny Lighting made a kit of this car years ago. I pulled mine out last night and should have it finished tomorrow.

Interesting... I got that 50s Batmobile years ago when they had them in stores, and thought at the time it sort of looked like a bulletnose with a bat-head covering the bullet. I may have to look for that comic!

I did look at price guides for that comic and it lists for $150.00 plus for good condition.
Currently none listed on eBay that I could find.
