    Front springs for 64 Hawk

    Can anyone provide me with part numbers for front coils on a 64, V8 Hawk. Preferably aftermarket if anyone has the right ones. Thanx

    Cool Handle! CC655 moog cargo coils work great but can be hard to get from time to time. Try your FLAPS or go online, Luck, Doofus

    Also, since you had a number for the coils how about info on leafs

    Moog CC655 coils can be ordered from Rock auto, Summit, or Jegs. Rear springs probably from regular Studebaker vendors like Studebaker Intl. Babcock spring in Milwaukee can make and/or get made replacement leaf springs for any Studebaker. http://www.babcockspring.com/ I have been dealing with them since I was a teenager over 45 years ago. A good company. For Ron Hall's Bonneville Avanti I bought new replacements from N&A/Sasco. Babcock modified them to my specifications. They were great.
    I always use a Studebaker spring insulator at the top on front coil springs. Gabriel Classic Gas shocks seem to be the best riding shock available today for normal driving. They are relatively cheap besides.

    Hi Jim,
    You mentioned earlier, in another post, that you had installed a few sets of MOOG CC653s, but prefer the CC655s. What was the main difference between the two? As for ride height, which sits higher?

    Hey Hawk jockey i found rear leaf springs for my 53 at a trailer repair shop locally. Took in old spring walked out with new replacement springs same day, just lucky i guess. Doofus

    So it would seem the CC655 is for softer ride/lower stance and the CC653 would give stiffer ride/taller stance?

    Hey Guy's gave 63 lark to grand son, father drives it daily. NO change in 655's in 3 years of city driving, Son in law weighs 375 lbs, no lean no sag car still sits level and rides nice. Granpa still has to maintain it tho! Luck Doofus
