How common were 5 speed ODs on Champs?

1957 Silver Hawk "Josie"- picking up the pieces after an unreliable body man let it rot for 11 years from an almost driver to a basket case
1951 Land Cruiser "Bunnie Ketcher" only 47M miles!
1951 Commander Starlight "Dale"- basket case
    1947 Champion "Sally"- basket case

Just a guess on my part, but I would venture to say there were more automatic transmission Champs than there were NP 5spOD equipped ones.

In other words; "Extremely Rare", since Automatics are Very Rare!

I am sure many Buyers and even some Dealers, were unaware that they could be ordered.
I do not believe the competition had them not in Pickups anyway, they are so heavy duty that quite Large Trucks used them.

V8 - appears to be four speed, with climitizer and T6 trim. Serial number shows to be a '64 1/2 ton, but wheels indicate 3/4 ton. Possibly a cab/frame marriage - who knows.

Oh no - have enough fun trying to keep up with the ones I already have.

Did you notice whether it was a four speed or 5/OD?

Interesting it has E12 running gear but E7 serial number.

              It had a 4 speed. I have a 64 just like it with a 289 4 speed.

This 1964 1/2 ton truck my Mother and Dad had on the farm. VIN E7-21452, red pickup with the long box, with the final assembly date of 8-29-63. It has a 289 engine, 4bbl carb, 4 speed and a 3.73 twin traction rear end. It also has tinted glass in all windows and H.D. springs.

Nice, I do not believe I have EVER seen a T or C Cab Pickup with Full Factory Tint, rarely a Tinted Windshield even.

Of course it was available, it's just that Dealers almost never ordered it after 1958 on Cars or Trucks, here on the West Coast anyway.

                              8E5-138888 - 112 WB - T4 cab - parts truck in Central Texas

This was the very last Studebaker truck my grandfather used on his farm in the early 1970s. Mostly used to take bales of hay to feed cattle. It had the wide bed replaced by a stepside, and the engine was replaced by a flathead champion and a through the floor gear shift - need to ask my father why those changes were made.

Update: The truck came out a junk yard and was missing its engine. There was an older engine/transmission back at the farm that was in decent shape so it was installed in the truck and a hole was cut in the floor for the gear shifter to go through. Not sure why the narrow bed is on the truck, but it might have been on it when they pulled it home.
