          The engine is what I call an R 0.8 . Basically stock 289 +.040 = 296 cid . .

Sweet. That's inspiring. My best so far with a stock 259 was 18.04 and 76 mph. Hope to do better with 3:73 gears, a tach, and a lot of practice

LOL. The 400 is a parking lot most days with weather like this. I'll sneak out to a concession road and have a spotter

This car weighs 2930 at the line with me on board . Glass nose is a big part of that, but
then it does have an 8 point cage in it adding some back. Lexan windows except for the backlight.
                    4.88 rear ( locker ) , ladder bars , 30"x9.0 x15 slicks .
The whole project, start to now, is also over on Sonny's site :

Also...I'd like to say that this car was boogered up before I bought it.
It had sat up next to a house for years with the grass etc growing up into it.
Some guys got it , and gutted it , put a water pipe "cage " in it and tried to make
a Chevy steering box work. Had a BBC in it , but never actually ran at the track .
I got it as a hulk , put a decent cage in , restored Stude steering , glass nose .
Lexan , wiring and plumbing , finished out the trunk for battery and fuel cell , Kirkey
seat, new Moser axles etc , wheels , tires , driveshaft w/2 loops , cooling , scoop and on and on.
( Saying this so that folks don't think that I chopped up a Stude. )

Kudos for putting another one back on the "road", so to speak. You did wonders.
