Ok question #2. As I mentioned in a reply to my earlier post the freeze plugs in my '63 Hawk are weeping/dripping. It also has multiple oil leaks. I'm going to be pulling out the engine soon and tearing it down. The milage on the odometer is about 75,000 but it could be any number really. Once I open it up I will decide if I'm going to do a complete rebuild or just a freshening up. I have seen several gasket and seal kits. Are any of them best to avoid? If I need to rebuild I have found the rebuild kits from Kanter Auto. What do you all think of them? Are there any other places to get a kit or would it be better to buy the parts individually? I've worked on and built SB Chevy's before but this is my first Stude any pointers or things I should be aware of?

While I know Fred Kanter personally, he is not a Studebaker specialist. Look over the vendor list here. Any and all of them can supply parts at competitive prices.
Phil Harris at Fairborn Studebaker has most of what you'll need in stock.
If you've never rebuilt a Studebaker V8, spend your first dollars on a Shop Manual. Then, spend some time searching here.

Two other sources to recommend:
Studebaker West - They specialize in Studebakers only, both parts and service. They know Stude's.
Dave Thibeau - Provides Stude' parts only and is very service oriented.
Both are long time suppliers and advertise in T.W. (FWIW - I have used both and have been very satisfied).
