  • Brakes: How to convert your hydraulic brake switch to a mechanical switch

I converted my Silver Hawk from using a hydraulic brake switch to a mechanical switch that I got from Napa. Here's an instructional video on how I did it. Seeing is believing.

What do you think of the conversion?

To: Tool Dude Tony,-----I really enjoyed watching that! Very well done ...You should make more of these videos relating to making Studes a bit easier to keep on the road.

The same switch could be used for a backup light. For hanging pedals Mustangs had a switch on the brake linkage that could be adapted to hanging pedal Studes.

one down, five (or more?) to go....

This conversion is soooo easy- even StudeDave '57 can figure it out!!!

I had a few extra issues to deal with on my Parkview~ floor patches, broken/old wires, and the like- but it's just about the same for a sedan/wagon as you see in the video of the Hawk.

          Thanks 'Tool Dude Tony!!!
