  • Casting numbers on R1 heads

Does anyone know what the casting numbers on R1 heads should be?

Sonny on the racing forum asked me what mine were, but he hasn't answered so I am curious if my heads are really R1.

The head casting number is: 1557570 with a number "2" below it.

It is the same on both heads.

I just noticed that the 63 Lark 259 engine and my 64 Daytona 259 both have the same casting number except they have a "3" below the number.

Most of the '63 and '64' V8's had these heads and they are the R 1 heads also.

According to this, you have the correct heads...

Thanks Bob and Ted. I knew I had seen that chart somewhere. I should have known it was on your web site, Bob.
