I don't yet own a Studebaker, but there's a 54 Commander that's in not great shape on CL which I'm drooling over. I just wish I had like $750 to buy it.

Hello, I'm Kelii from Los Angeles. I bought a '53 Studebaker Sedan a few months ago I'm glad to own her, page link: (http://forum.studebakerdriversclub.c...baker-Champion)Sure she may have 85hp, sure she may not be the most attractive or fastest thing out there, but she is the best car that represents me- 1953 Studebaker Champion Sedan

Wheelie and Kelli, welcome to the Forum! You both have beautiful cars. '53s are some of the most beloved Studes of all time - congratulations on having a true piece of history to drive! Hang around, ask questions, post more pictures - we happy to have you as part of the family!

Not an owner yet, but looking to be - haven't made up my mind which one. Picture a kid in a candy store... I like the 50's starliners, the non-finned Hawks, and the later Larks.
Whatever I get, though, I'd like it to be with the 289 V8, maybe go after a supercharged something-or-other.
Current daily driver is a 2013 Chevy Volt, wife drives a '12 Equinox, and youngest son drives a '13 Cruze, so it's kind of a Chevrolet household.
Would definitely listen to advice, pointers, etc... I'd like to figure out dates, ie, when did the 289ci went into production models, etc... so I've been reading and absorbing all I can.
Thanks, and cheers!

another new one here I have building cars since the late 80's mostly chevys but love all old cars. I just bought my first almost complete Studebaker (I have bought several Studebaker parts through the years), it is a 1941 4 door, not sure which model, looking for vin coder for that. It will be a custom, cause one of the previous owners cut the front frame and put a Nova clip in, move the tail lights to the fenders but did a poor job and now one is missing, some of the door hinges are broken due to rust through, and took the original rear out also. Well, hello all!

Rainmaker, great car! Glad to have you here. Ornery, you should find a body plate screwed to the firewall that looks something like this:
When you locate it, start a thread and post those numbers, and Forum members will be able to tell you what model your '41 is!

I am a new member and a relatively new Studebaker owner. I purchased a 1955 E7 pickup last October. I still need to get the transmission changed before I get it on the road. I found a transmission so I'm just waiting for better weather to start the job.

Hi all -- I'm tickled to be the new owner of a 1955 Studebaker President -- she's a blond bombshell that we've named Marilyn. She's not only my first Studebaker, but my first vintage car, and I totally love her! We're in Denver, and looking forward to meeting everyone at the International Meet in Colorado Springs this summer!
