I discovered on the weekend that our place in Bellingham is 10 mins from the Bell museum. I hope the Avanti is ready by then. Harvey

I attended the local meeting yesturday, (26 members present! PLUS some ASC folks! ) it was good to see Lionel Stone, Russ and Hazel Haggen The Bells, Long time members, Brian and Barb Curtis, (founder member Doug Johnson) I went from there to the local ASC gathering and had a ball! ASC may get a new member!

Points were discussed about how the tasks are divided etc. One important NOTE that came up was that SDC people should register NOW for 2 reasons:

1 So they can order in enough PRIZES and FOOD

2 So the morning registration happens faster, more streamlined because this will be a LARGE event and several other LARGE local hot rod and classic car clubs will join us at the Hovander park show day. If last year was an indication of how big this is growing (150 + total cars, not counting the many cars for 'display only') This year should be even larger. This event will be WELL ADVERTISED and heavily attended.

I am sure some of the members in charge and the new president will post more about this here as the meet draws closer.

Thanks for mentioning all that other info, BTW.
Early registrations are very helpful indeed!!!

                Whoa- good question!!!
I'm fairly certain we've had the registration form in Turning Wheels by now~
I'll have to check to see what issue that might have been. (August?)

If all else fails-- email or PM me through the Forum,
and I'll see about getting an electronic copy of it to you...

The same goes for everyone else. Thanks.

I was hoping to have my studebaker road worthy for this meet but it looks like I will need a replacement transmission first. I was hoping to show up in a classic car now I have to drive down in my work car, not as cool.

Sorry to hear that. A good transmission or just about anything you could want was minutes way the whole weekend. (and always really) We had parts 'shuttled' from the shop to the events for 3 days straight. The show and all of the events were the best I have seen in a long time. SOme cars only showed up for one day, 'new cars ' took that spot the next day. I have no idea how many cars showed up, the place was packed. The locals are ' talking Studebaker' all week, and for good reason. Thanks to all who showed up in a Studebaker or brand X, it was pretty cool!
We drove a total of 4500 plus combined miles for one hell of a good showing. The unofficial count was 100 Studebakers and some did not even register or sign in to one single event..........

Any one got pics from the show? I was pretty bummed that I couldnt make it. But we finally had a chance to take a break from everything and capitalized on it. We have been going non stop since buying our house and our son being born in July.

                                I don't, but Dad does.
Maybe I'll get around to loading them up on his P-Bucket site sometime this week...?

I'd like to once again thank everyone who showed up for our events this past weekend.
I don't have the actual numbers handy, but I believe we had over 50 Studes at the Bell's,
and just about as many in the show the next day at Hovander.
Those plus the 50 or so 'non' Studes made for one very fun show.
The total StudeMilage driven was a very impresive number.
