I wish that building were still there, an incredible example of Art Moderne/Streamline architecture. In spite of historical declaration, it was torn down a couple of years ago.

    The M signifies Dealer.

The 56 is that particular plate, meaning Dealer #1 had at least 56 dealer plates in circulation, a large dealership, to be sure!

    Update:
I ran this past my Hudson friend Larry Kennedy. Here are his remarks:

Bob, that is Bobby [Kennedy], they are in a 1968 Chrysler Newport Convt. headed southbound on Capitol Avenue past the old NAPA DC. It looks like they are at about North or Vermont St. LK

Good question. I take it you are referring to the license plate on the car. However, note that all the signs are in English. Curious.

Belgium and the Netherlands share a border so that makes sense. So, how many Dutch towns have a Burger King?

That must have been fun and challenging to load the top row in the snow. WOW! I had a hard enough time loading in the rain. Guess I just didn't get taught right.

From the Friday, March 24 Hemmings Daily Blog:

'Must've been a doggone good Hudson dealer in that area to have two '55s in this photo!

(And what kind of car is that convertible in front of the yellow '57 Chevy; the convertible with the trunk open?) BP

The right tail light was the only part that gave it away for me also. I still can't find a Studebaker though in 8435.

There's a two-tone dark and light blue 1957 President Classic backed in on the back row, between the '57 Chevy and '58 Ford. BP
