    WELCOME ...to the SDC Forum!!!

Not sure which style you need as there were small differences over the years.
Studebaker International does offer Hill Holder Seal Kits.

    Good Luck!!!

the seal kit is all that mine needed...

found out the hard way though...
i "rebuilt" the Hill-Holder out of dad's '53 and put that on the '61...
no dice, so i now had the '61 Hill-Holder off the car and in hand, did the same "rebuild" on it and INCLUDED the seal kit this time - works now...

i know that the '53 and the '61 Hill-Holder are the same, don't know about the '48...
though i suspect it may be the same (truth be told, i didn't know the '48s had one, did you add it?)...

I ordered the hillholder seal kit for my 56 Pres from S. I. The new copper seal for the end cap would not fit. I had to reuse the existing fiber seal. So far no leaks.
I understand that you can use EDR/EPDM o-rings or flat rings. [Brake fluid resistant. Regular rubber will dissolve.] Both are available online but I could not find anywhere that would sell just 1 or 2.
Bulk orders or min purchase only. Couldn't find anyone local that handled EDR/EPDM.
Make sure you orient the camshaft correctly when you reinstall it.

    Dan,
How did you get the screw-on end screwed off?? Nearly broke the handle off a pipe wrench trying to remove mine.
