I met Steve several years ago when he bought a '37 Coupe Express street rod from some kid in Pensacola.
I had an agreement with the kid to 'borrrow' his rear fenders to make molds for fiberglass replacements.
That kid sold the CE to Steve and told Steve that was part of the deal.
Steve, being the good man that he was, honored that agreement, as long as I removed the fenders, and put them back on afterwards.
Well, The fenders were removed, and reinstalled..Under the port wing of a B-25 Mitchell bomber being restored to flight condition in the SW hangar.
They flew that plane out not too long after I put the fender on.
I visited Steve last summer, and he knew his time was short.
He was a good guy......

Just keep looking and I find another one but I knew Steve was sick and the last time we talked he said time was short, I got to know Steve when he came to California to pick up a 58 Golden Hawk to restore, not sure if it ever got done , he did say if I was ever in his part of the country to stop by and check things out , sorry that time never came. My condolences to the family. It is especially hard for me to read these when the deceased is younger than I am.
I do not believe that I knew Steve, at least not by name.Gary L.
