  • Whatcom County SDC's workin' on something BIG!!!!

Yes, the Whatcom County SDC will be doing our 'regular' show on 11 September, 2011.
It'll be at Hovander Park, Ferndale, WA- as always-- 30+ years now...

But another event is coming together for 10 September, 2011 as well!!!

More is sure to follow as it all comes together-- watch this space, eh?!?!?!?!

If you remember last year's Can-AM Zone Meet- you might just be on to us and our plans...

Anything ever happening over here on the dry side?

I've got a really nice flier for our TWO DAYS worth of events,
but I can't seem to post it due to it's size. I'll keep trying,
but in the meantime- If you'd like to see it- PM me please.

You'll only find a copy in your 'sent items' folder if you clicked the box to do so when you sent it.

I'll be attempting to send you (and Bruce) an email in the next few days~ but I may wait until after our meeting on Sunday, as there might be a better version to offer you. The one I have is a sort of two pager tri fold deallie bobber-- in color!!!

                good grief!!!!

Things have gotten quite busy here at the casa. Between the preparations I needed to make for my May Madness Trip (from hell) and some other 'drama' I'd rather not talk about- I'm just now getting back to this...

Anyway- at this point the best it would seem I can do is to let you know that information is in our newsletter now, as is the registration form. It's also in the "What's Happening" section of Turning Wheels. If you do not get a copy of our newsletter- contact me with your email addie, and I'll get one to you when I return from round two in California at the end of the week.

This tri-fold do-dad I have is a PDF file. I have given up trying to figure out how to post it here.

Mark and Bruce- "you've got mail"

In the coming weeks there are multiple announcements to be made pertaining
to Whatcom County SDC's International Drive Your Studebaker Weekend.

The first one I am pleased to make is that this could be your last chance to catch the Fura Lark on US soil before it heads to the Great White North!!! Craig has confirmed he will be coming to pick it up and take it home. But beforehand- it'll be on display at the Bell's Studebaker Museum and Diner and again at Hovander Park the next day. Having been it's keeper these last few months- I can tell you that the car is quite something to behold!!!

We have arranged special rates ($75 a night) at the Super 8 in Ferndale- call them at (360) 384-8881 and mention 'Studebaker'. If you folks down in SoCal wanna come up- no problem!!! The airport in Bellingham is served by Allegiant http://www.allegiantair.com/ so flying in is easy.

                  So make your reservations now-
come join us for the open house, a cruise to Boomer's, and the car show in the grass!!!

Hi Dave... got the "flier" from the Bell's at the NWOD in May. We have a small contingent of Vancouver Island Chapter members descending on Bellingham/Ferndale for the weekend, including yours truly. Hotel, etc. is already booked!
The ferry costs will be a killer (the Zone Meet is also on the mainland 2 weeks prior to this event), but having seen the Bell's a couple of times before, I wouldn't miss it.

                      oh yeah...

Not 1, or 2 --- but at least 3 very special cars will be hanging out. I've started on one of these and its a nice survivor, low miles original paint, found the build sheet tucked above the glove box today. I have never seen one there.

Lets see, strato blue, TT, powershift, P/S , duals, padded visors, day/night mirror, one AC. side mirror, disc brakes, 4 seat belts, mud flaps, full trim, full tinted glass, rear speaker for the AM/FM radio, full disc wheel covers delivered to Burlingame, CA the Studebaker Zone Office/ parts warehouse. RUSH!/ Demo.
                      What could it be?

Lots of cool rides ended up in the Northwest.
