  • What does the color label codes say?

After the color information (Chippewa Green Enamel) on the body color label on my friends 1953 Champion Starliner it says W.X.O. Also on the label it says W662. What does these codes mean?

    see http://www.tcpglobal.com/autocolorli...baker-pg01.jpg
the W-XO appears to be a particular industry code for that colour using three letters ie 26 x 26 x 26 = 17, 576 possibilities; other companies would have their own notation system. W662 might have been Studebaker's internal system. Someone with real facts can answer this one <ggg>

IIRC the WXO is an internal color code that is found in the Engineering Depts. paint info. The W662 is the form number for the label.
