  • M5 Pickup: How do I remove the lock on the passenger door?

I have removed everything else from the door/window. The lock is the only remaning item. I am trying to be very gentle and don't want to pound it too hard from inside the door; I'm afraid I'll bend the stem. I have removed the paint that was carelessly applied before I bought the truck. Any suggestions?

    Thank you,
    ~Marc

There is clip with two prongs that fit in grooves on both sides of the lock body. You need to reach up into the door with an L- or hook-shaped tool to catch the small flange on the clip and pull it downward about an inch. Once the clip is loose, the lock will come out.

Thanks, Gary! That was easy. Mine was actually upside down, so I got a screw driver up there and pushed up on it. Lock popped right out.

You are right! I'm new at this and without folks like Gary, I'd be lost.
