  • Modification to Corvette C5 Calipers for Avanti

We are working on installing 13" Corvette C5 disc brakes on our stainless Avanti chassis.

One of the things necessary is to remove the cast Corvette logo from the calipers.

We may have a die cut vinyl label with the Avanti logo installed, or perhaps Studebaker, or may leave clean of any logos. What would you do?

If your rims are slotted I would go with Studebaker since everyone will be able to see it is a Avanti, but probally don't know it was built by Studebaker. Maybe if you rub hard enough it will appear as the rear did. Good Luck and nice work.

The "rim" better not be slotted....won't hold much air that way!!
The "center" can be slotted or have holes in it!!!

There should be enough material to have STUDEBAKER engraved very shallow (.015" / .020" deep) into the face then paint it with high heat paint. Then depending on the wheel, the "Studebaker" would show up nicely.

      That would be fun.
