I just know they were made by a guy that shared the Studebaker name, no connection to the auto company. (many 1000's of folks with the Studebaker name by now)

I learned what little I know about Studebaker boats about 3 years ago from a post on alt.autos.studebaker (see below). They were built in or near Topeka, KS, probably in the '70s and '80s. I hadn't heard of any fibreglas boats, but I suppose they could have built them as well. I think they were best known for making very well built aluminum lake boats. Anyone in the US named Studebaker can trace their ancestry back to one of the 5 brothers.

I have a Studebaker pontoon boat. They were made by the Studebakers in
Topeka Kansas in the 60's. There were quite a few of the boats at The
Lake of the Ozarks up until 10 or 15 years ago. The quality of the
boats are very good and the ones I have seen are still in good shape.
I haven't seen any other pontoons... Has any one on the newsgroup got
one? Does anyone know Gary Studebaker of Topeka? I think it was Gary's
      folks that built the boats.
