57 Golden Hawk steering wheel assembly

When Jerry puts the new "disc" into the hub, the turn indicator mechanism chews up the rubber insulator. He has replaced it twice. The steering column had been out of the car. Any insight or advice?

I'm not sure exatly what you're referring to, the brass disc that the horn contact rides on? In any case, if you're getting interference between the directional switch and other pieces parts, have you checked the position of the jacket on the steering column? It needs to be set just right so that the directionals will self cancel but not so high that there's interference with the steering wheel.

    good luck,

Yes, the brass disc is what is wearing fast. I'll show Jerry your post.
    Thanks
