            Finally got this pic resized (I hope.) Bought this '40 President from it's long time owner in 1987. Wish it still looked this good today. Needs painted again.

                  Thanks, Dave. I've not driven it in years. The paint went bad. It was repainted sometime in the 1950s and is very thick. Moisture got behind it and caused it to scale off in large chunks.

                  I'd like to get it redone. It is a blast to drive. ( 3 on the tree, no o/d) The straight eight is powerful and quiet. You can hardly hear it at idle. It handles very well for such a tall car,but is somewhat difficult to see out of. I can't see the edges of the front fenders from behind the wheel, even if I put my head against the headliner. And that hood is a country mile long. Backing up.....

                  I used to say to myself when driving it, "Remember John, this car is older than you are."
