Weaver did the conversion to the tow assembly, using a stock Studebaker M15a 1 ton pick up. Included in this price is a rebuilt Studebaker engine (shortblock) that I picked up a few years ago. The rings smoked in the existing engine, but ran well.

Found this on Craigslist. It is not my truck.

I see what looks like a brake drum on the side of the rear bed. Was this being used as brake on the cable winch?

Does anyone have any info on this wrecker. This was my dad's first wrecker when he got into the towing business in the mid 70s. My dad painted it blacks and yellow and a neighbor hand painted all of the lettering. I grew up riding in it with him all over southern Iowa. We would take it to shows on the weekends. Anyway he sold it in the mid 80s to pay some bills. It would be awesome if I could find it and if possible buy it back for him. Thanks for your time
