    1957 Studebaker For Sale

Please excuse the group emailing. I have a 1957 Studebaker Silver Hawk for sale. I ran an add one time in Turning Wheels magazine, but all of the responses I received were from out of state, and I got the impression that most people called just out of curiosity as no one seemed seriously interested in traveling to California to look at my car. I just did an online search for California chapters of Studebaker clubs which is where I found your email addresses. I would like to inquire if anyone knows of a good source for reaching people in California who are interested in Studebakers.

My Silver Hawk just recently received a tune up, new fuel pump, and had the carburetor rebuilt. It is running well. It has power steering, and no rips or tears in the upholstery or headliner. The registration is current. It has low miles on the rebuilt 289 V8 engine. I'm asking $11,500 or best offer. If you know of anyone who may be interested in this car, or if you can recommend a good place for me to advertise where I would reach Studebaker collectors from California (or nearby states), I would be most appreciative.

    Thank you so much.

What a lovely car! Pink paint or no, I'd drive it!

Does anyone know if there is or was a Mr. Zuniga? That name sounds awfully familiar. [:0]

That is a very nice Hawk, at a reasonable price. I think your major problem is going to be the color, which is what turned me away. A good paint job is going to set someone back $3k-$5k, so that winds up making it pretty expensive in total.

Hello Anne, I'd suggest craigslist.org which is FREE and worldwide. It's design is for buyers and sellers who are local to each other to do commerce. I've had great results. I use Photobucket.com to host all my medium resolution picture and cut and paste them into my ad. I've seen many post from members here posting listings from craigslist in our forum. Good luck.. If I had the spare change I'd buy it. Take care. -robert

Love that car, color and all! Looks like a cake to me[] I'd be happy to have it... of course, there's always the risk Linda would commandeer it

Good luck on the sale! If it was a little closer to NY........

The turn off for me is the seat material formally used in a brothel. I could live with the pink color, since it was used by most in the mid 50's, but those seats, UGH!

Has the owner actually said the car is pink? I wondered if the camera flash combined with some fading may have made a coral paint job look pink. I know coral is a sort of pink, but not as pink as this car looks. Also in one of the interior pictures the inside of the door post looks darker.
I am not that crazy about the seats either, but that is a small thing compared to a repaint.

It is that Wine/Burgundy Color, I also think when the whole Interior is that color and a plush pile velvet like material, that it looks that way. However this one looks kinda OK to me, because it has lots of White Vinyl.
The quality of the work on this Interior looks very good.

I would still need to spend $3500.00 to $6000.00 to repaint it, before I would be seen DRIVING it though.

I am pretty sure it is PINK alright!
It appears to have been worked on at Bill Oliver's Studebaker Parts and Service in Long Beach, CA because it has their license frame.

Wish the exterior was the same red as the interior. I'd be at the bank.
