  • Dennis Gage says....

...he had a great time at last weekend's Midnight at the Oasis show here with over 1000 cars, beautiful weather, and record attendance. He also adds, "Studes forever." You can read his blog and see video on his trip to MATO on his website: http://www.myclassiccar.com/

I had a chance to talk to Dennis twice on Saturday. Said he would come by the Stude's but not sure if he did. He was concentrating on some high dollar cars. I found 6 Studebakers. 41 Champion, 41 Commander, 40 Champion, 55 President, and a 32 St Regis Brohm. There was a 63 Avanti entered but we never found it. 41 Frank & I had a ball.

We had some dandys come by. One guy said he had a Studebaker and took out the engine and put in a 6 cylnder V8 Packard engine that bolted right in. We just rolled our eyes. I told a couple that Frank and I took out our high performance 6's and put in the big V8's for economy.

Another guy told Frank Van Doorn (Frank41) that he had been taken home from the hospital after his birth in 1940 in a '40 Stude that looked just like Frank's '41. We believed that story.
