I need to replace a weeping drain plug in my 1950 Champion. Last night I pulled the distributor out (hopefully, I can get it back in the same position[:0]). There is a cork seal that goes in the distributor shaft hole. SI doesn't list the part, and it is so narrow that I think that I would have trouble fabricating a replacement. Does anyone know a source for these? Would my local FLAPS have one?
I don't have the starter out yet. Are there any tricks to that?
Also, since I will have both the distributor and starter out, but both work okay, is there any routine maintenance or parts replacement that I should do? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
