    1949 Studebaker Pickup Information

Hello everyone, this is my first post here.
Im just looking for some information and it seems to be scarce online.

I have a 1949 Studebaker Pickup Truck, and Ive been trying to 'restore' it as much as possible, unfortunately, up here in northern BC Canada, we don't have many shops.

Im looking for manuals, documentation on paint practices (mine is two tone brown), hubcaps.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Ill be posting a picture of my truck in my signature soon.

Hi Dwayne - Welcome! You've come to the right place. You definitely need a Shop Manual and a Parts Manual for your Truck. [^] Both are readily available from many of the Stude Vendors found here:

    http://www.studebakervendors.com/

Studebaker International also sells the maunals on a CD if your prefer. having the Parts manual is invaluable to tracking down all of the bits and pieces you need. If you have not done so, you should join the SDC - which you can do online here.

In addition to SDC membership, you will also receive Turning Wheels monthly[8D] which has many articles and vendors that you won't find online. One of the resident "experts" will undoubtedly be able to assist you with your paint colours. The code should be on the body plate for the truck. Good luck and keep us posted.

Also you can purchase from the Studebaker National Museum a copy of the original production order of your truck/car. Enter in your serial number and you'll receive a paper with all options, model information, color truck came with originally where the truck was sent to when purchased by dealer etc. http://www.studebakermuseum.org/styles.asp?cid=211
Good luck, I have a early 49 myself 49's started with a serial number of 001-49500 BUT since your in Canada you may indeed have a canadian built vehicle. Go to the Truck site listed http://studetrucks.tripod.com/ post some information and Frank will break down the numbers from his vast resources.
