  • Dan Sallia Died This Morning

Our brother, Dan Sallia, finally lost his battle with cancer this morning.
Known on the Forum and Racing Studebakers as SilverHawkDan.
Brother Bill and his wife Jackie and I drove down to see him earlier this week in Santa Maria. He was in hospice care at home with his wife, Kathy and his daughters Daniele, Heather and Jennifer by his side. He was only able to hear us and responded with movements of his eyebrows, lips and occasionally opening his eyes. He knew were with him.
He was a fighter right to the end. For all of you who knew him you are welcome to send messages to his family via my Forum page. I will see that they get forwarded.
His many Studebaker projects are being turned over to capable hands and will be finished. We will miss him terribly. He was a great brother, husband, father, and grandfather. His passing is just 3 months after the passing of our father, Charles Sallia, in November.
    Rest in Peace, Dan.
Dan with the Bucket List Dream at Bonneville, 2010.

All our best, Ed. So sorry to hear of this. BP
We've got to quit saying, "How stupid can you be?" Too many people are taking it as a challenge.

I was continually amazed at how he could be so ill and still do all the things he kept doing. Our sympathy and prayers go out to you and the family. Really tough losing two in such a short time.

I met Dan a few years ago at La Palma. He seemed to me one of our beloved & "typical" Studebaker admirers that when you left his presence it felt like he was an old friend. I too will miss him.
