    According to the BBC, Townsville, Queensland has received 3.3 feet of rain in the past week...

    Nothing is "usual" anymore.
    Australia, just like most of the world, has just emerged from its hottest summer in recorded history. And there's no reason we should expect the next one to not be worse.
