    41 Studebaker drag car

I started scanning photos from Mike Marinoff. He raced a 55 Chevy gasser. Here is one I found with a note on the back. Does anyone know anything about this car?

Know a lot about it Jim. Car was original low mileage one owner with original paint ….before. Ron Colson and Gary Wood were owners builders (Ron drove). Injected Chevy ran mostly B-Gas. Ran C/Altered at Indy Nationals where the pics were taken. Not sure why but believe they (NHRA) figured the engine set back (allowable 10% of wheelbase) was exceeded. Held B/G record for a while. Volkswagen Karman Ghia front suspension. Still around with original paint!! Belongs to an SDC member in Rockford, Il. Have helped him by sending these photos. What else?

If you know who owns this 259-Studebaker-powered '53 from The Meltdown Drags, Jim (and I'm sure you do); you'll know the person who also owns the subject car of your inquiry. BP

We've got to quit saying, "How stupid can you be?" Too many people are taking it as a challenge.

    Ayn Rand:
"You can avoid reality, but you cannot avoid the consequences of avoiding reality."

    G. K. Chesterton: This triangle of truisms, of father, mother, and child, cannot be destroyed; it can only destroy those civilizations which disregard it.
