  • Studebakers at Dunkirk 2019

We've had some people ask what's happening for the Studebakers at Dunkirk Swap Meet for 2019... here's the answer.
The meet will be September 20 & 21. It's the same weeked again as we want to have continuity. We know it's only a week after the International Meet in Mansfield Ohio but we don't want to keep moving the dates around, we want you to be able to count on us and when we'll have the event. Also we didn't want to stop for a year then try to restart, again, continuity...
Here's an idea for you to consider. If you are planning to attend Mansfield, by all means, do it. Then you have a five day gap until Dunkirk, make a vacation of it and tour western New York and see what we have to offer. There's a lot to see... from the Lake Erie shore, to wineries that offer tours, shopping, casinos and more. Take a trip to Buffalo, NY. Buffalo is just 50 miles from Dunkirk and there you can visit the Pierce Arrow Museum, the Albright-Knox art museum, the Buffalo Zoo or a house designed by Frank Lloyd Wright to name a few. Another 20 miles gets you to Niagara Falls, if you haven't seen the Falls you need to.
When you're done seeing the sights come to Dunkirk for an all Studebaker Swap Meet that's growing each year. This year we have a few special events planned. Michael Myer from Myser's Studebaker will be installing a set of Turner Brakes on a '57 SIlver Hawk on site so you can see how it's done and ask questions. Also Jon Myer will be holding a Q & A session. Come sift through the vast knowledge that Jon has rambling around in his head. We'll also have a couple of special vehicles there on display to check out.
If you're a vendor we know it's difficult and not inexpensive to attend two meets back to back so we want to help you out too. If you have vended with us before we are going to give you your spaces and tables for FREE for 2019. Yup, no cost! New vendors, we haven't forgotten you either. Any new vendor will get one 10' x 10' indoor space or one outside space for free. Coming from Mansfield and want to tour the area for a few days before setting up at Dunkirk? We have people who live nearby and will give you a place to store your trailer or load of parts between the meets so you don't have to haul it with you the whole time.
We also are planning a dinner at the meet for anyone who wants to stick around Friday evening after we close for the day.

So much to see and do in western ny. There is also a wood boat museum. Worth a whole day trip on it's own. Come. See. Take the time to do both. (And bring a trailer, you never know....)

Steve, that sounds great. You are quite the Ambassador. I'm sure it will turn out positive. That would keep me bout 3 weeks from home. Sounds good. jimmijim
