  • RIP, Roy Clark - the picker and grinner is gone.

The legendary picker and grinner was 85.

I remember seeing him play guitar with his feet on Johnny Carson....

Wow, its true. Remember him on Hee-Haw.

Gotta confess I didn't realize he was still around as I haven't heard anything about him in years and assumed he'd passed long ago.

False alarm. I have fallen victim to another internet hoax.

False alarm??? Check USA Today, Google Roy Clark, etc. Much coverage about his passing at age 85. If it is false, it was certainly cleverly fabricated.

I guess we'll know when they broadcast his funeral.

Warning; ridiculous special effects in the video, but one of his best versions of the song.

One of many things I remember from my days as a paper carrier for the Lincoln (NE) Evening Journal in the early to mid 1970s is what my customers were watching on TV when I came to collect for their subscriptions every four weeks. One popular program was Hee Haw shown in syndication on channel 10 in Lincoln. I could walk from house to house most of my customers had Hee Haw on in the hour before the CBS prime time began on Saturday evening, at least I think it was Saturday
