Simply Stunning! Those hubcaps-spinners really set it off, and look factory on the car. Could you tell us what the wheels and hubcaps came off of?

    Kustom 55 caps

fakewires.jpgThanks! The car came with what I think are after-market wire wheel hubcaps. Not being a fan of the phony wire wheel look ( even the "correct" Studebaker ones) I was planning to toss them when I noticed the wire parts were just bolted to the centers of the full hubcaps underneath. So I removed them, hit the disks with Quick-Glo to get rid of most of the surface rust, bought some dummy knock-offs on Ebay and attached them to the same holes in the centers. The wheels currently are stock wearing whatever bias-plys the seller could find that would hold air. As I do more research I'm finding wheel and tire choices can be complicated. Wanting to set them up with wide white radials I'm not finding much at either Cocker or Diamond Back that will fit the narrow original wheels. Apparently if I want to convert to disc front brakes somewhere down the road you can't use the stock wheels which would mean I have to find different wheels which would mean I would have to buy more tire$ and I read here and on Facebook about the tires rubbing on fenders when you do that. OY! I'll get it sorted out before spring.... I hope!

Hi Dan, beautiful car. Try American Classic tires. They’re a radial tire that has a bias ply look to them. I believe you can get rims from a Ford Crown Victoria to fit the brakes up front.
