WOW! I can resist anything except temptation. Do I have enough time left to attack yet another project?

Very desirable car. Super package with R2, disc brakes, 4 speed, and nice color combo.

A few years ago I had it's brother, but a 64. Same car in every other way. Super Red, full package, supercharged with 4 speed. Nice car.
Someone's gonna get a great project. Going up in value every year, too.

Why does the thread poster indicate an R3? Am I missing something?

Seeing that R3 I thought it might be still another R2 with a R3 Carb. enclosure, but no this one looks totally Stock R2 Super Lark, just a typo or misunderstanding.

This is a sister car to Jim Peppers that he is in the process of restoring. We know where 2 out of the 3 are, so where is the 3rd? Bill

Bill, if you mean the 1963 Lark Custom 2-door Jim Pepper has had forever, it's not a Daytona hardtop like this one. But they are both full-package R2/4-speed cars in Super Red, if that's what you mean.

Or is Jim Pepper holding out on us and he has an additional 1963 R2/4-speed Daytona hardtop? BP

This thread reminds me of 63V-31238, which I stumbled upon while doing production order research years back on Avanti-powered '63 Skytops.

This was a Super Red Custom 2-door sedan, solid black vinyl buckets, Powershift, R2 with the complete 'Super' package, white Skytop, delivered new to Hollidaysburg, PA.

    I could just picture it!

It wasn't delivered until 2/28/64, per the retail sale card at the SNM archives.

I wrote down the name of the purchaser. I googled him and he still lived in Hollidaysburg!

A couple weeks passed, and I got an envelope back from him. In shaky handwriting it said, "I was good friends with the Studebaker dealer here, but I have no memory of owning that car".

With the end-of-month delivery date and his friend being the selling dealer, I always wondered if this had been a 'goose' to meet a monthly quota or something...or if the fellow really couldn't remember owning that car!

I have an interest in the outcome because i am selling at least six of my classics including a nearly identical 63 R2 (not a Super Lark and a has red interior) that is complete and on the road. I do most of my own work but it is becoming too difficult to maintain my fleet.

    34 Studebaker Street Rod (completed)
    55 Speedster (in work)
    63 Lark R2 (completed, 63K miles)
64 Daytona CNV (completed, 63K miles)
    64 Avanti R2 (completed)
    85 Avanti(blackout trim, 10K miles)
    89 Avanti CNV (19K miles)

If someone is looking for a Super Lark there are few out there more desirable and worthy of restoration than this one. Similar to finding a 1967 Z28 with cowl induction but yet even more rare. The difference is the camaro would be well into the six figures in comparable condition and would most certainly not have its original matching engine. Those all blew up in short order.
