  • 1955 Studebaker Commander

Pictures of my 1955 Studebaker Commander. I purchased this 2 years ago for my parents 62nd Anniversary. They had a similar car when they were first married.

    Nice car; a DeLuxe!

Being a first-series two-tone, it might be a 224 engine to which a later oil filter setup was added. Do you know if it's a 224 or a 259? They're both excellent engines, but 224s seem rare these days; you hardly ever see them. This might be one. BP
We've got to quit saying, "How stupid can you be?" Too many people are taking it as a challenge.

Very sweet ride! Super clean, I am loving the interior. Are those power seats working?

      I also have a 55 Commander W4, w a bench seat.

It is a 259. I added the filter setup. I kept the original canister filter.

Thanks for the compliment! The power seats are functional.

I love it except for the seats.

              Very nice!
What's the rest (rear) of the interior look like?

ID:	1721148 @ Skyway. This is what the back seat looks like. My mom says it's comfy riding to church or out to eat.

                  Thanks!
Do you know what they came out of?

Yes I do. They came out of a 1998 Mazda Millenia.

My dad with my sister circa 1956. He had a 1955 Studebaker Commander Regal. He had 3 speed standard with OD and hill holder. This is where I got the idea for the Anniversary gift. His was a mint with cream trim. I am not certain of the colors that Stuebaker called them.Click image for larger version
