-55 sedan's miss-fittings

Have anyone ever seen a -55 sedan with the rear lights & bumper matching up? I googled & found these:



& here's my own Josephine who was the cause for me to start it:

Has anybody seen a decent one? Ever...?

Not sure to what you are referring? Are you referring to the bumper being straight and centered? Here is mine:

No, I mean the side-view, the chrome around the lights goes more forward than the bumper.
& it seems it's only like that on sedans.

Not sure I grasp the original question.

The bumper is supposed to stick out farther than the lights. That's why/because it's a bumper. Would you prefer that the lights take the beating from the SUV who cannot parallel park?

I think that the OP is referring to how the forward (chrome) edge of the light is not in line with the forward edge of the bumper at the quarter panel. Bug or feature?

And.... the back end of the rocker panel ends short of the front edge of the rear wheelwell opening.

It was close enough for Government, (Studebaker) Work!

Wagons and C or K Models have completely different Tail Light Housings without the Huge wraparound, so you can't compare Sedans to them.

Yep, it's the front of the side parts I mean. It's like as if they were planning a different bumper but then thought "Ah, the hood & grille is bad enough so people won't notice it anyway!" but 63 years later...

It looks fine for a grocery-getter. None of these cars were expected to last long enough for anyone to study them so close.

Probably the result between what the designers wanted (chrome in alignment) and what the bean counters allowed (no, use an existing part instead)....

Honestly, it never caught my attention and no one else has ever mentioned it. I guess I tend to look at the overall look rather than small details.

If you want to "fix" it, I would recommend extending the bumper as the easiest route. After cutting, fitting, rechroming and the like you will have a masterpiece that others will be amazed by.....as soon as you point it out.
