Shameless plug. Former Nels Bove Avanti on eBay

I listed my '63 Avanti on eBay tonight. The car was previously owned by Nels Bove and I bought it from him in 2007. For anyone who might be interested here, the listing is pretty comprehensive, but if you are interested in what Nels had to say about the car in 2007, do a search function on "Nels" as a image.jpg user name and when his posts come up, go to page four where you will find a thread entitled "1963 Avanti 4Spd air cond".

It it is a runner, and good looking to boot.

Darned clever ad, non forum members may be puzzled about the battery hold down comment. Looks like a good car and a thorough description.

    Here is the thread mentioned:

Bid early and often.....disappointed to see the price at this time. I'm going to have to sell our 1960 Lark Hardtop soon and hoped the demand for a nice Studebaker was stronger than what the this sale seems to indicate.

That is a very appealing Avanti. If I could afford it, I'd install a T85 transmission and leave the original floor shift in place, if possible. An OD would work well with the current 3.73, and the AC and PS, together with OD would make it a very nice driver.

Too bad Stude drivers are not more appreciated nowadays.

the trend on ebay seems to be to wait till the last hour to seconds before the auction ends for the true bidding

Yes, I'm with George, for obvious reasons. Bid early and often. I've watched a lot of eBay auctions over the years and the pattern is some action as soon as a car is listed, and action right at the end. I've bought a couple of cars with action at the end myself.

I knew when I wrote it that the battery hold down comment would baffle some non forum users. I sold a '50 bullet nose business coupe on eBay about 8 years ago and made the same comment, but no one here saw it I guess. I laughed as loud this time as I did then to put that comment in. So, Palma, this is your legacy --- battery hold downs in every Studebaker ever offered for sale.

Have you tried to get it listed on Bring a Trailer auction? Always a positive response from the crowd when a Studebaker shows up.
