    Avanti on Ebay...

    Check this one out.

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/30270632222...m=302706322226

Listing says "Needs fatal restoration".... ( Obvious typo ) It can't be any more "Fatal", than it already is...

HA!...might be a typo, but eBay is full of FATAL restorations...and...
I might be guilty of participating in a few myself...

Just because it's a typo, don't exclude it from the being truthful.

Considering the cost of restoring an Avanti II in this condition, and the values of Avanti IIs, restoring this one would be fatal to one's savings account. I'm not knocking Avanti IIs, just saying that they are worth less than Studebaker Avantis.

I see it as a good candidate to be parted out to save other Avantis, but not at that price.

About a $2000-2500 car but if you had the parts the body is not a hard fix.

Where is Sal? He had a decent rear body if I recall. Also stated Turbo 350, I have my doubts as my 1970 came with the Flightomatic. When was the first application for GM Turbo Hydramatic transmission? As swvalcon states, this could get an interested party into the game with a bunch of self supplied labor and ambition.
    Hope it gets saved.

My 1970 Avanti came equipped with Borg PowerShift. I don't believe Avanti Motors started with GM Hydramatics until late 1970 or early 1971.

Good memory. I do still have the Avanti body shell. Its from the firewall back. I was about to cut it up and sell it in pieces. The roof, for those who want to be rid of the cursed moon roof. And each of the rear quarter panels.
But... If someone here buys this Avanti, I will donate the rear quarter for the rebuild. You just have to come pick it up. I don't want to ship it.

    What's a "2R10 Avanti"? Does it have an 8-foot 1-ton box?

That is the eBay default mode if you do not select a model/trim level for your Studebaker or Avanti. We see this often and just ignore it as we all know that it is not a truck.

However, with the rear end damage, this could become an Avatimino and use the 2R10 code..
