Photo Request (54 distributor vacuum line)

My 54 Commander (232 engine) has a hard vacuum line running from the carb to the distributor. I assume this is wrong, hard to make timing adjustments with the hard line going to the vacuum advance. Asking for someone to post a photo of this vintage engine so I can see what the vacuum line is supposed to look like.

If Stude was like G/M's, the hard line is correct! -Jim

Hard line is correct. Unless the distributor is installed in a non-standard position only slight rotation of the distributor is necessary to correct the timing.

Wow, wasn't expecting that answer. Makes my life easier. Now all I have to do is find a distributor hold down clamp so it will stay where I want it.

The hard line is slightly flexible in that it is ok to move the distributor as needed for timing.

Static set the timing first then bend the line to fit. You should never have to change it after. I have a 63 259 and the line is a solid tube. Once it was set I have never had to move it.
